Port Gardner has three separate residential areas: Rucker Hill, Grand Hill, and the Longfellow District, as well as thriving retail and commercial districts. Many of the residences in this neighborhood are historic and were built in the early days of Everett. A section of the downtown commercial and residential districts, as well as the district administrative building for the Everett Public Schools, Sequoia and Jackson schools, and some Port of Everett facilities, are located in the neighborhood.

Several events are held in the Port Gardner area, including National Night Out festivities. The club also contributes to the upkeep of the Forgotten Creek Trail, Depot Park, and the Charles Street P-Patch community garden.
